Brand Recommendations

Investing in make-up and beauty products that are eco-friendly is important because it’s not only better for the environment, but it’s also better for you! Natural beauty lines substitute those yucky, synthetic ingredients with natural ones. A good example of this would be using fruit dyes to color make-up instead of synthetic dyes. Below are beauty brands that I recommend!

100percentpure is by far my favorite beauty brand. Their make-up is is pigmented by fruits, vegetables, teas and plants while their fragrances are naturally derived through essential oils. All products are made of biodegradable formulas, shipped with biodegradable, recycled or recyclable packaging and printed with soy inks. Their brushes are derived from recycled plastic bottles and their nail polishes are free of the top 10 most toxic ingredients found in most nail polishes. 100% Pure’s headquarter property is completely powered by solar energy and they are a cruelty-free company. In addition to loving their make-up, I also am obsessed with their hair, skin and body products. Check out this article to see what natural products work best for your skin type. They sell products on a seasonal basis, so be sure to keep an eye out for all of their new autumn products! It’s true that some of their products are a little more pricey, however, they are very reasonably priced for a green beauty brand and students get a 15% discount. They do have awesome deals so be sure to keep an eye on the products that you want to try!

Some of my favorite products include:

Pacifica is another brand that I have grown to love. Their brand is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. They have become my favorite nail polish brand because their polishes dry quickly and are very pigmented, unlike some of the other more natural nail polishes that I’ve tried. I always fall in love with the scents of their creams and perfumes!

Some of my favorite products include:

The Body Shop is a natural, cruelty-free beauty brand that has been around for decades and they are currently working to make their brand even more eco-friendly. Their products have been 100% vegetarian since 1976. Some of their products contain honey or beeswax, which is why they don’t identify as a vegan brand. The Body Shop is dedicated to enriching their products, people and the planet. I always love all of their products that I try!

Some of my favorite products include:

Lush is a wonderful beauty brand where their products are hand-made and cruelty-free. They also make a great effort to limit packaging materials which is another reason why they’re such an awesome brand. Lush offers a variety of unique products that are fun to use, such as mouthwash tabs, shampoo bars and shower jellies.

Some of my favorite products include:

A friend of mine just recommended a company called Alaffia, which I am excited to try! They create face and hair products to empower communities in need. Alaffia practices fair trade and uses organic ingredients in their products.

Other green beauty lines that I want to try include:

Other Green Beauty Tips

– Invest in natural makeup brushes. EcoTools, 100percentpure and Alima Pure are some good brands to try out.

– Use natural products to clean your makeup brushes. I like to use a bar of olive oil soap, but EcoTools has a nice liquid brush cleaner formula.

– Saturate reusable cotton rounds with your favorite natural make-up remover rather than using wipes on a daily basis.
